MUSIC PROGRAM SEPT-DEC 2006

KJEW’s musical program is a fun lineup that music-savvy Jewish young people will listen to. This will open up for them a whole new world of Jewish music, music that is vibrant, alive, sophisticated, on
the cutting edge. Our audience will discover that that Jewish art and culture are not old-fashioned but continually growing and renewing itself.

We give new Jewish talent an outlet into the world. By showcasing new artists, we not only contribute to their own success in the music world, but also inspire more Jewish musicians to create their own art by showing them what their colleagues are creating.

The music program draws audiences that will hopefully continue listening to our other content, talk-radio shows and current events etc. The musical segments before each show would also help set the
emotional tone for the content that follows.

Finally, some of the programs will introduce our audience to some of the amazing music created by previous generations, transmitting the rich musical heritage that we are heir to. Such programs may also draw in some older listeners; but this would not be an exercise in nostalgia. The music would have to have that timeless quality that makes it relevant to all generations.
